It was a day and a pretty good one at that. Coming to the end of a four day weekend where nothing went wrong, some things weren’t quite right but nothing went wrong, and feeling pretty good. I am about to get myself in the sack so I get some needed shuteye before driving to Gunspoint mall tomorrow to be at the data-center for what will likely be all damn day again. We did a decent amount this weekend including swimming (two days for me three for the wife and older kids), grocery shopping, hot dog feast with my brother and his small clan, but we missed church because I was not feeling well. I didn’t stay out too late and had about seven hours of sleep when time to get up rolled around but I felt like dwarfs were trying mine gold out of my intestines. I did fail at quitting smoking and that pretty much sucks but not much I can do about it now. I will just have to try again.
Tomorrow I have to try and finish shoehorning a wrong kernel into the Anaconda installer without any clue why it’s failing where it’s failing. Uncharted waters to start the week is never fun but at least it keeps me on my toes. Next week I am at Boston College to drop in 40 nodes for them and do some training. Four days worth of easy stuff. It’ll be a nice respite from the last two weeks of not so easy stuff. I may sound like I am complaining but let me assure you that I am not. I am very happy with my job but the last month was a hell month. The awesome thing about it is that we pulled it off and kicked ass which is why we had a four day weekend. They know how to take care of us and keep us motivated.
Also if you ever want to know where you stand with your boss: A bottle of 16 year old scotch handed to you at your birthday party is a good sign.
Well it’s time to sign off for the night. I won’t update nearly as much during the week but a daily digest of my tweets should show up through some magical shit I installed. We’ll see if it works. Here’s a little Two Cow Garage for your listening pleasure: Two Cow Garage – Blanket Gray
