MixWidget Back End

UPDATE: I am maintaining the code for MixWidget Back End on GitHub and using their generated pages for updates. The update here is outdated. Please visit: The MixWidget Back End homepage for current information.

Most of you around here have seen the little tapey-flash-thingy I use for putting up my mixes. It’s a nice tool but it’s damn annoying as you have to edit all sorts of files and stuff to get a mix on the web. I decided to scratch my itch and learn PHP while I was at it. Long story short…

This is the main page for the MixWidget Back End. There isn’t a lot to see here at the moment but hopefully that will change soon.

MWBE is my first php script and as of 09/29/09 has been released into the wild as an alpha version. You are welcome to check out the code on github. Right now I am offering no support whatsoever. This release serve two purposes. Firstly it gets me off my ass and continuing to work on the code since it’s out there where anyone can grab it and secondly github provides me a tool to work on the code wherever I happen to be. When/If I move to a beta release I will open up something here where folks can ask questions and such but since this project is in its infancy I don’t care to inundated with inane questions. Of course it’s more likely that I won’t get any questions because no-one will use the thing and that’s fine with me as well.

If you happen to be interested here’s the README

So far this is just a drop in back end for mixwidget.

This is the 0.1 ALPHA release so if this scrip crashes your web host, rapes your cat, makes you blind or any other thing
you think it oughtn’t have done then you are on your own.

If you upload this to your webhost and don’t secure the admin directory you may well have all sorts of crap uploaded to
your account in no time flat.

In other words don’t use this, it’s not ready. It will be soon but it’s not now. If you use you do so at your own risk.

This is a drop in back end for MixWidget (http://www.mixwidget.org) that allows you to upload a zip file of MP3s and
creates the necessary conf files for MixWidget based on the songs you uploaded and a bit of user supplied data. It also
includes a selection of ready to use skins from http://www.tapedeck.org.

and the TODO:

v0.1a

Fix index.php in root directory
Fix mixes.include
Add list of mixes to main page in admin
Fix style.css for mixes/
Add in handler for cover.jpg
Add validate to the menu
Add license information to script
Clean up getid3

Nothing more really to say here other than I will be updating here at least once a week, I hope, and the eventual goal is to make this a WordPress plugin.
