The thoughts and prayers of me and my family go out to the Branan family with the passing of Dallas Lee Branan. For those who don’t know Lee was Cory Branan‘s father. He shuffled off this mortal coil on Feb 21, 2010 and headed home. I know that a blog post isn’t much by way of condolences but I hope that Cory and his family know that we are thinking about them and our prayers are with them. From listening to Cory talk about him he was an amazing man and will be missed. Please keep the Branan family in your thoughts and prayers during this time. You may leave condolences here: Dallas Lee Branan.

This mix has tracks that some of you might not agree with and some I don’t even agree with but this is not my day. This is Veteran’s Day and it’s a day to put politics aside and salute those who keep us free. If you find yourself disagreeing with a song or two on here then suck it up. I got a call the other day, the details of which I will not share, from my good friend Ryan. It was a good phone call despite the topic we discussed because I hadn’t heard from him in a while and the last time he reached out I dropped the ball and never got back to him. Regardless of that I knew he wasn’t upset with me because he ain’t like that. Our conversation inspired this little compilation, my longest mix tape so far if I remember correctly, but I didn’t have all the music I needed at the office so I couldn’t toss it real quick yesterday morning and my remote connection to home was sketchy and then from home to the server was even more sketchy so I decided to just complete it from the house. As fate would have it the upload didn’t finish, if it finished on schedule, until around 0500 (thanks Comcast. I don’t think we use Comcastic to mean what you think it means) so I couldn’t post until this morning. As if to thumb its nose at me the compilation’s ID3 tags were all funky, likely due to using a Windows program to set them, so this morning I had to download everything, re-tag, re-archive, and the upload everything again. It’s almost as if this compilation didn’t want to be posted. I prevailed in the end and stomped the damn thing into submission. So while the title is private joke and this whole thing is for Ryan I do hope you will all enjoy the music.

I am horrible at getting stuff done if it involves lots of work after the initial thing. Such as taking pictures at a show. I have processed a few of the pics from the Cory Branan/John Snodgrass show back on July 1. Here is a slideshow for your viewing pleasure. I am processing more of them tonight and will put up a link in the top navigation bar to the galleries when I am done. Not that you knew these were supposed to be up but sorry for the three month delay!!!

UPDATE: All of the images that were even remotely good enough to put up are now up. I am not going to put up a gallery page tonight most likely but it will be done soon.

There’s a Monday Mix Tape hanging out under this post but since it’s not only Monday it’s the seventh anniversary of the day I stood before God, Family, and Friends and pledged my life to the lovely Michelle. I doubt it’s been easy for her to put up with my craziness over the last seven years but she has and we carved out a fairly stable niche in this world for our clan. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her and her support. Today is seven years and counting and I plan to keep counting for a long damn time.

To Michelle: I have no regrets in marrying you, not even a second thought, not in seven years. You have been there to help me up when I have fallen, you have supported my crazy schemes, and you haven’t stabbed me in my sleep (at least not on purpose). I love you as much today as I did when I married you. Happy seventh baby. Seven is still a small number…I can’t wait for fifty!

As promised here’s a happier mix than last Monday’s mix. It’s a little schizo but it’s happy overall. And after having listened to it all the way through it’s one of the best Monday Mix Tapes I have put up so far. This is not a mix tape for my anniversary…
