About Me

I was born in the very early hours of a summer day in 1972 and things went downhill from there…

There is a lot I want to cover here but I also want this to be succinct so I’ll just go with a bulleted list. In no order, here’s what I feel is important information that will give you the necessary context to understand what is posted here. I think the easiest way to do that is with a list. I may add links and more information over time but I think this is a decent enough overview to provide context.

Gender: Male
Pronouns: He/Him/His
Marital Status: Happily married since 2001
Offspring: Eight wonderful human beings
Sexuality: Pansexual
Religion: Progressive Christianity
Political Affiliation: Anarcho-Socialism
Career: Over 20 years of being a Linux Architect/Engineer/Admin focused on HPC and Cloud
Internet Chops: BBSs prior to dial up being accessible, a dial up shell before there were web browsers as we know them today
Music: There are no genres in which I cannot find something I enjoy. There are no guilty pleasures, there is only enjoyment
Hobbies: Linux, TTRPGs, Video Games, Magnificent Bastard

With that out of the way there are some things that don’t fit, handily, into a list. The first and foremost is that I do not tolerate any form of bigotry. Do not come at me with the Paradox of Tolerance, I am perfectly content and sleep quite well at night without tolerating intolerance. This site will never be a free speech zone, if you color outside the lines I’ll simply delete your comments. I expect anyone who chooses to interact with me to display some form of common decency. This is my space and I will absolutely censor and curate it as I see fit and there’s not a damn thing you can do abut it. I have moved beyond debating sea lions, defending my evidence based world view, or even responding to conspiracy theories. You are welcome to participate in those things wherever else you’d like.

I do accept that I may be wrong in my views and as such am willing to discuss most of them in a rational manner. I preach listening to marginalized groups and letting those folks lead the way to change. I have all the privilege in the world and as such cannot truly understand the experience of marginalized people. If I am wrong then I want to learn and do better.

I try to always be a little better than I was the day before.
